FIFI worked very closely with FSSAI during 2011-2012 for resolving various issues pertaining to newly introduced Food Safety & Standards Act of India. FBO Registration reliefs obtained:
- Exemption from Food Safety Management System.
- Exemption from Food Recall Plan
- Exemption from NOC from Local Municipal Body
- Exemption from Verification & Inspection of Importer’s registered office
- Introduction of Online amendment procedure for Food Categories for registered FBO’s
- Preferential treatment to FIFI members for obtaining FBO registration across India.
FIFI also hosted Mr. S.S.Ghonkrokta, lAS & Director Enforcement, FSSAI for a presentation on newly announced FBO-Food Business Operators’ Registration with FSSAI. The Session had a huge attendance from importers, retailers and trade bodies, who thanked FIFI for providing such a platform.
